It is true that some individuals can have tumors, or underlying medical conditions that lead do weight gain, but most people that struggle with weight loss follow the standard American diet, have sedentary lifestyles, and have disrupted the body’s self regulating weight maintenance system. Most Americans have tried dieting in one way or another. Gym memberships skyrocket every January, and New Year’s resolutions frequently include one promise or another relating to weight loss, and getting “healthier.”Low carbohydrate (low carb) diets have been proven to be effect for those that desire to lose weight. Someone that chooses to follow a specific low carb system (such as Paleo, Atkins, South Beach, etc.) in order to lose weight, frequently sees a significant weight loss at the beginning of their weight loss journey.
