Did you know that your forehead size could be a strong indication of gluten sensitivity…
According to the medical journal, Digestive and liver disease : official journal of the Italian Society of Gastroenterology and the Italian Association for the Study of the Liver, "It has a frequency comparable to other signs or symptoms such as anaemia and short stature and is a better predictor of coeliac disease than other signs such as recurrent aphthous stomatitis, recurrent abortion and dental enamel hypoplasia."
In layman's terms.. if your forehead is larger than "normal" then you have a good chance of being sensitive to the gluten protein. The study basically divides the face into 3 equal areas: bottom of chin to under the nose, under the nose to the glabella (spot between the eyes), and glabella to the hairline. These should all be equal size. When individuals have a larger forehead size, there chances of gluten intolerance, and/or celiac disease increase.
The article clearly presents the caveat that this study was based on "Caucasian Mediterranean adult coeliac individuals" and that more information is needed, but it is still an interesting topic.
Measure your forehead size for fun and see what you come up with.
