Diabetes May Double by 2050! (and perhaps triple)

In 2010, USA Today suggested that diabetes could double by 2050.  Reports sited in the article indicated that 14% of the US adult population was currently diagnosed.

Updated statistics from the American Heart Association claim that this year, 1.6 million people will be diagnosed with diabetes. An estimated 81.5 million Americans have pre-diabetes, using American Diabetes Association criteria of fasting blood glucose of 100 to less than 126 mg/dL, and an estimated 7.1 million Americans have undiagnosed diabetes, using American Diabetes Association criteria of fasting blood glucose of 126 mg/dL or more.

Are you pre-diabetic or even undiagnosed? When was the last time your blood sugar was checked? Don't become a statistic, and take control of your health today.
