Detoxification for Complete Wellness

Toxicity is a growing concern in holistic health today.  Poor food quality, chemicals, dyes, exhaust, contaminated water, radiation, and pollution are a few examples of the toxins that we deal with on a daily basis.  We are bombarded by these and other substances daily, and many times our body has difficulty removing them from our system once we come in contact with them.  As we become infested with these toxins, our body suffers, and we may begin to experience symptoms such as: allergies, fatigue, headaches, pains, skin problems, and digestion issues.

Every day, we try to eliminate what we do not need from our body, we are attempting to detoxify.  There are many parts to our natural detoxification process.  When we breathe, we remove carbon dioxide, we eliminate waste when we use the restroom, and we even have organs that filter our blood so that it also remains pure.  Our body handles toxins by neutralizing, transforming, or eliminating them.  For example, antioxidants neutralize free-radical molecules. The liver helps transform many toxic substances into harmless agents, while the blood carries wastes to the kidneys; the liver also dumps wastes through the bile into the intestines, where more waste is eliminated. We also clear toxins through sweating.

Detoxification is the process of removing these toxins from our body, and is essential for a healthy life.  There are many ways to enhance the detoxification process enabling us to decrease the stress of these toxins on the body.  One of the most effective ways to assist the detoxification pathways is with a detoxification footbath.  The detoxification footbath uses the largest organ in our body, the skin, to assist in the detoxification process.
