Dr. Hayden Featured in Disc Golf Promotional Video

According to the Professional Disc Golf Association, “disc golf is played much like traditional golf. Instead of a ball and clubs, however, players use a flying disc, or Frisbee®. The sport was formalized in the 1970’s, and shares with “ball golf” the object of completing each hole in the fewest strokes (or, in the case of disc golf, fewest throws).” As many of you know, Drs. Chase and Reece Hayden are avid disc golfers.

Earlier this year, two professional disc golf athletes came through Houston, and hosted a disc golf skills clinic, meet and greet, and toured some of the local courses. Avery Jenkins, the 2009 PDGA world champion, and Simon Lizotte, 2012 Disc Golf European Champion, and 2013 PDGA EuroTour winner, also stopped by the office to get checked out.

Disc golf and traditional golf share many similar movements. These movements can lead to injury in many joints, including the neck, low back, shoulders, elbow, and knees. While evaluating these professional athletes, and helping them to stay in optimal playing form, there was a camera man from Discmania, one of their sponsors, that documented what we found. This week they released a brief promotional video (2:15) that chronicled their time here in Houston, and our office made the final cut. Check out the video below. Whether your pain and injuries are a result of disc golf, or another sport,  falling down, or even car wrecks, we can help you out. Our goal is to get you feeling better than you were before your injury. Give us a call if we can help!

On a side note, to date, our office has helped professional athletes in: golf, disc golf, tennis, baseball, football, rugby, track and field, martial arts, and shooting (pistol).
