How Acupuncture can help

Acupuncture theory relates anxiety to an imbalance of the heart and kidney meridians.  One of the functions of the kidney is to aid in calming the heart down when exited.  Stimulation to these meridians, as well as other specific points that help the body relax, are commonly used to assist individuals suffering from anxiety.

One of the most popular combinations of acupuncture points for those who are afflicted with anxiety is referred to as the Golden Triad.  These points are LI 4, Lu 9, TW 6, Ht 7, and SI 3.  Stimulating these five points helps calm the body down as well as relax the muscles.  Many who have been experiencing an anxiety attack upon entering the office and had the Golden Triad used on them have reported a decrease, and sometimes complete disappearance, of their symptoms after treatment.

  1. ShenMen
  2. Anxiety
  3. Tranquilizer
  4. Kidney

These auricular acupuncture points aid in calming the heart, relaxing the muscles, and bestowing an over-all relaxing feeling.  Some patients have reported to feeling positive effects within seconds of having auricular therapy for their anxiety.
